I have struggled at times with this one: I either achieved something, created something or founded something but often times people forget that I deserve some amount of credit for these great things I have done. I'm being overlooked for the credit I deserve.
Now this may just be my struggle, but if you can relate a little to this, I want to share a breakthrough I recently had:
I was having a quiet time with God and struggling once again, feeling like I was getting overlooked and not getting credit for some really great work. I was going down my typical path of asking God to open up the minds of the people around me to see the great stuff I did, or the “give me favor” prayer when it occurred to me, or maybe God planted this idea into my head, “Hey Jeff, I’m with you. I get it. I understand not getting credit or recognition for most all of the incredible works of My creation.”
It’s true: the God of the universe and our heavenly Father rarely gets recognized for His incredible works. The heavens, the stars, our own lives and the abundance of blessings that come from the hand of God are mostly overlooked by His own creation.
So the next time you and I are tempted to host a little pity party about not getting the recognition we deserve, maybe we can remember that our God can relate. Our Heavenly Father, who set life as we know it into motion, understands this dynamic every minute of every day and gets virtually no credit for the greatness He is and for how deeply He loves each one of us. Maybe, in those times of being overlooked or even forgotten, this can be a comfort to our souls. It has been for mine.
We are in Great company.
